Do you happen to know the very first question that is recorded in the Bible? Take a moment and test your knowledge, or at least your reasoning skills. If it is the very first question recorded in the Bible, then where would you expect to find it? Would you find it in the middle of the Bible? In the last book of the Bible? You are tracking now, aren’t you? First question would have to be in the first book, Genesis. So you have the first book down. Now where in Genesis would you find the very first recorded question in the Bible? Early on, halfway through, towards the end? If you do not know the question by now, you would probably guess you would find the question early on in Genesis. If so, you are correct again. Do you know it yet?
If not, let me give you another thought to guide you. The one who asks the question might surprise you. The very first question recorded in the Bible was not asked by a person. It was asked by a spiritual being who was in the form of a snake. That would be Satan. Now do you know?
This happened in a place known as the Garden of Eden. The snake was talking with the very first woman. That alone sounds strange to us, but we must remember life in that Garden was quite a bit different then. Now, sometime before the snake appeared, the first man and first woman had been given freedom by God to eat of any tree in the Garden except one. Satan approached the woman and wanted to draw her focus on that one tree, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. That is when he asked his question, “Did God really say…?”
What I offer you in this week’s blog is that the very first question recorded in the Bible reveals something key about the questioner. He tries to get people to not listen to and obey God. One way he does that is by getting them to question what God really says. That’s some good information to file away in your brain and draw on from time to time. Anytime a thought comes to your mind that prompts you to question if God really commanded something, you should pause and think. It just might be the devil is up to his old tricks. He might be trying to get you to stop listening to God and to disobey him. Before you follow that prompt, you should look long and hard at what you are being asked to question. That response just might save you a whole lot of pain down the road.
Primera Pregunta #1
¿Conoce usted la primera pregunta que está registrada en la Biblia? Tómate un momento y prueba tus conocimientos, o al menos tu capacidad de razonamiento. Si es la primera pregunta registrada en la Biblia, ¿dónde esperaría encontrarla? ¿Lo encontrarías en medio de la Biblia? ¿En el último libro de la Biblia? Estás rastreando ahora, ¿no? La primera pregunta tendría que estar en el primer libro, Génesis. Entonces tienes el primer libro correcto. Ahora bien, ¿en qué lugar del Génesis encontrarías la primera pregunta registrada en la Biblia? ¿Al principio, a la mitad, hacia el final? Si no sabes la pregunta ahora, probablemente supongas que la encontrarás al principio del Génesis. Si es así, estás en lo cierto otra vez. ¿Lo sabes todavía?
Si no, déjame darte otra idea para guiarte. El que haga la pregunta podría sorprenderte. La primera pregunta registrada en la Biblia no fue hecha por una persona. Fue preguntado por un ser espiritual que tenía forma de serpiente. Ese sería Satanás. ¿Ahora lo sabes?
Esto sucedió en un lugar conocido como el Jardín del Edén. La serpiente estaba hablando con la primera mujer. Solo eso nos suena extraño, pero debemos recordar que la vida en ese Jardín era bastante diferente entonces. Ahora bien, algún tiempo antes de que apareciera la serpiente, Dios había dado libertad al primer hombre y a la primera mujer para comer de cualquier árbol del Jardín excepto uno. Satanás se acercó a la mujer y quiso atraer su atención hacia ese único árbol, el Árbol del Conocimiento del Bien y del Mal. Fue entonces cuando hizo su pregunta: “¿Dios realmente dijo…?”
Lo que les ofrezco en el blog de esta semana es que la primera pregunta registrada en la Biblia revela algo clave sobre quien pregunta. Intenta que la gente no escuche ni obedezca a Dios. Una forma de hacerlo es haciendo que cuestionen lo que Dios realmente dice. Esa es una buena información para archivar en su cerebro y aprovechar de vez en cuando. Cada vez que te viene a la mente un pensamiento que te lleva a preguntarte si Dios realmente ordenó algo, debes hacer una pausa y pensar. Puede que el diablo haya vuelto a sus viejos trucos. Podría estar intentando que usted deje de escuchar a Dios y le desobedezca. Antes de seguir ese mensaje, debe analizar detenidamente lo que le piden que cuestione. Esa respuesta podría ahorrarle mucho dolor en el futuro.
